Bubble-Free Blockout Vinyl, also searched as air-release vinyl, air-egress vinyl or air-free vinyl, is a printable self-adhesive PVC media designed to help trapped air escape during application. Its specially
textured release liner supports smoother installation on large graphic surfaces while the blockout construction helps reduce background show-through.
Jiu Mao Industrial Co., Ltd. has
manufactured printable vinyl and large-format printing materials in Taiwan since 1998. This matte bubble-free series is available in 940, 1295 and 1550 mm widths for distributors, wholesalers, importers and printing
material suppliers requiring standard, OEM or private-label products.
Are Bubble-Free Vinyl and Air-Release Vinyl the Same?
Bubble-free vinyl describes the intended installation result, while air-release vinyl describes the material structure that helps trapped air escape during application. Both terms are
commonly used for the same general type of printable self-adhesive vinyl.
The current Jiu Mao product specification identifies a specially textured bubble-free release liner and pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. This structure
is designed to support smoother application and help reduce trapped air on large graphic surfaces.
Key Benefits of Bubble-Free Blockout Vinyl
- Reduced air entrapment: The textured release liner helps trapped air escape during application.
- Smoother large-area installation:
Supports easier application on wide panels, wall graphics and large-format signs.
- High-opacity blockout performance: Helps reduce interference from existing graphics, colored substrates and mounting surfaces.
- Low-glare matte finish: Provides a non-reflective printable surface for retail, exhibition and display environments.
- Multiple ink systems: Current products support solvent, eco-solvent
and UV-curable inkjet printing.
- Three production widths: Available in 940, 1295 and 1550 mm widths for different large-format production requirements.
Current Bubble-Free Vinyl Specifications
All three current products use 120 µm matte printable PVC, acrylic adhesive and a bubble-free release liner. The main product variation is roll
width.
All three products have a published shelf life of 12 months under recommended storage conditions and are manufactured in Taiwan. Product weight
and packaging dimensions should be confirmed on the individual quotation or technical data sheet before ordering.
How Air-Release Installation Works
- The release liner is removed to expose the pressure-sensitive adhesive.
- The printed vinyl is positioned on a clean, dry and suitable mounting surface.
- During application, the textured release-liner
structure helps provide a path for trapped air to escape.
- A squeegee or suitable installation tool is used to apply consistent pressure from the center toward the outer edges.
- The air-release structure helps reduce bubbles, but correct surface
preparation and installation technique are still required.
Recommended Applications
Suitable Applications
- Large-format advertising graphics
- Retail and point-of-purchase displays
- Exhibition panels and event graphics
- Wide-area wall graphics
- Opaque storefront and window graphics
- Flat or moderately curved vehicle panels
after compatibility testing
Not Intended For
- Backlit displays requiring light transmission
- One way vision or perforated window graphics
- Complex vehicle wraps without conformability testing
- Surfaces with dust, oil, moisture or unstable
coatings
- Applications requiring guaranteed repositionability unless separately confirmed
The product is described for indoor and outdoor advertising applications, but no specific outdoor service
life is currently published. Final performance depends on the ink system, print curing, mounting substrate, installation quality, UV exposure and environmental conditions.
Bubble-Free
Vinyl vs Standard Blockout Vinyl
| Feature | Bubble-Free Blockout Vinyl | Standard Matte Blockout Vinyl |
|---|
| Release Liner | Specially textured bubble-free release liner | Standard double PE-coated release liner |
| Air Management | Designed to help trapped air escape during application | Requires careful progressive application to manage trapped air |
| Current Thickness | 120 µm | 100, 120 and 180 µm options |
| Best Starting Point | Large-area installations where trapped air is a major concern | Projects requiring more thickness options or standard liner construction |

Printing & Installation Considerations
- Confirm printer, ink,
media profile and curing compatibility before full production.
- Allow solvent and eco-solvent prints to dry and outgas according to printer and ink recommendations.
- Apply the vinyl to a clean, dry and suitable surface free from dust, oil and
moisture.
- Use consistent squeegee pressure and work from the center toward the edges.
- Air-release technology helps reduce trapped air but does not replace correct installation technique.
- Test adhesion, removability and surface compatibility
before large-scale or vehicle application.
- Confirm the required roll width, finished graphic size and trimming allowance before ordering.
OEM & Private-Label
